Private Wheel Lessons (all levels)
Step into the studio for a fully personalized pottery experience with a professional ceramicist guiding you every step of the way. These private wheel-throwing lessons are tailored entirely to you — your skill level, goals, and pace — whether you’re touching the wheel for the first time or refining advanced forms.
In a focused, distraction-free setting, you’ll receive hands-on instruction covering core wheel techniques such as centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and troubleshooting common challenges. Lessons can also be customized to explore specific forms like mugs, bowls, or lidded vessels, or to build consistency and confidence on the wheel.
All instruction takes place in a fully equipped studio using professional tools, materials, and equipment. Clay (5lb), glazes, and standard firings are included, so you can focus on learning and creating without worrying about the details.
Extra clay and glazes are available for purchase.
Dates will be arranged with your instructor after purchase.

General studio rules
- Firing is included for work done in our studio only. Outside work is not permitted.
We do not have the capacity to support production potters
- Mark each piece with your own pottery stamp or initials
- Clay from outside of studio is not allowed unless explicitly approved in writing by owner
- Pieces must be picked up within 4 weeks or they will go to heaven (or hell)- this includes bisque
- Students are not to remove tools or glaze from the studio
An additional fee is applicable on any piece exceeding the following dimensions:
- 15-20 pieces with the maximal dimensions: 8 (diameter) by 5 inch (height)
If the maximum size of any piece exceeds these dimensions the work will not be fired. For pieces exceeding this size, a firing service charge is applicable.
Damaged work
Pottery is a fickle beast. We are not responsible for work damaged by kiln explosions, accidents, other members, etc. Losing your work is an unfortunate part of the journey but we will allow brief cussing and temper tantrums when such accidents happen.
Food Safety
Not all glazes are food safe. Be sure to use only food safe glazes for the interior of items that will be in contact with food or drink. If you aren't sure, ask staff!
